Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate position in the Kudrolli Research Laboratory at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, funded by the National Science Foundation, to work on problems related to granular matter and far from equilibrium systems. The scope of the research work is negotiable at the time of contract and can focus on studying packing and response of elastic granular matter, machine learning, and/or fluid-structure interactions with a range of available optical and x-ray imaging facilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with an interdisciplinary group at Clark, leveraging our central location in the vibrant collaborative research environment in New England. A Ph.D. in physics, or related fields is required. Prior research experience with image processing, and statistical analysis is desired. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be renewed based on progress and continued availability of funds.
