Great News for the Center's Graduate Students!!

The Center for Soft Matter and Biological Physics established a Graduate Student Grant and Incentive Award in the Spring of 2017.

  •  Student Conference Participation Grant (up to $400 per semester and Center faculty adviser):  Aims to support graduate students (affiliated with Center faculty), who need financial assistance to travel to, attend, and preferably also present at a conference, workshop, or school, but whose advisers do not currently have any external funding available for this purpose. Travel applications are to be submitted one month prior to the destination.
  •  Center Collaboration Incentive Award (up to $400 per semester per student group): Rewards two or more graduate students from different research groups (led by Center faculty) to instigate and support a new collaboration for a planned or recently started joint research project.  The Award is presented during the Center's annual Symposium.  Students are required to report on their work during one of the Center's meetings, and are subsequently eligible for Student Travel Grant.
